Layout - Assignment 4: Horizontal Pan
A horizontal background pan I did for layout class. The video is just for demo purposes, as you can see the field guide shows a different resolution #layout #animation #assignment #pan #sheridan

Animation - Assignment 3: Ball Toss/Finger Point
A figure tossing a ball and then slamming it's hand on the desk. I made it loopable just for fun and also because I'm crazy Two different styles of finger point. One dramatic and fast, one casual and slow. Animated in TVPaint. #animation #sheridan #assignment

Animation - Assignment 4: Ball and Tail
Our assignment was to use everything we learned previously in the semester to create an animated ball and tail chase scene! Animated in TVPaint. #animation #assignment #bouncingballs #sheridan

First Semester Demo Reel
A selection of some of my work from my first semester at Sheridan College. Music: Pixel Dust by Hat Films https://hatfilms.bandcamp.com/ #reel #animation #lifedrawing #painting #characterdesign #assignment #sheridan

Digital Tools - Assignment: Pose Reel
A pose reel for a story based on the Aesop fable, The Fox & The Stork. I went a bit overboard on this one, was way longer than it had to be, but I like it! The framing could use some work but here it is anyways :) Images were drawn in Photoshop, the reel composited in Premiere. Another shorter assignment we had was to select one background and do it in full colour, so I included an image of what I came up with. #reel #digitaltools #assignment #sheridan

Life Drawing: Bone Portfolio
This was the most time-intensive assignment of the year, hands down. I spent so many hours on this, first doing the drawings on white paper and then another so many hours compiling it into the skeleton's journal. I had this storyline planned out that I told through the journal in a series of two-page spreads. I could have spent even MORE time on it, but I straight up didn't have time to spare. However, I'm still really happy with my drawings and my idea. If you have some time

Painting - Assignment 4: Textures
The final gouache painting assignment. This year the curriculum has changed, us first years will only get this one semester of instruction in traditional painting. It's on to digital painting in January! I plan to pick up my gouache again though. I honestly enjoyed it, I found it relaxing. I liked to take my time on my painting assignments, and I feel like I did fairly well on them! Sadly, the last of this set of four was a bit rushed - we were piled with work at the end of

Life Drawing: Royal Winter Fair 2016
Ah, I missed going to the Royal Winter Fair 2016 with the rest of my classmates due to getting knocked off of my bike by a car (minor knee injury), so I ended up going with a small group the next weekend. It was a lot of fun. I was blown away with how amazing some of their drawings turned out! My peers at school are AMAZINGLY TALENTED! :D #royalwinterfair #lifedrawing #assignment #sheridan

Layout - Assignment 3: Field Guide
A deceptively simple assignment that I ended up spending more time on than anticipated, we had to split character, background, foreground objects into separate layers, the idea being knowledge of how to construct a scene properly for animation. Learned all about field guides and graticules thanks to this guy :) Image had to come from one of the panels of our layout assignment 2. I ended up redrawing a LOT of it! #layout #assignment #sheridan

Painting - Assignment 3: Sky and Clouds
We were asked to do an analogous colour scheme for these gouache paintings, and were asked not to use black paint to help us mix dark colours. I feel like, especially when it comes to some of the unsuccessful thumbnail paintings below, that I learned a lot about what not to do while painting with gouache. It helped me a lot for the next assignment. #painting #gouache #assignment #sheridan
